Introduction
The incidence of coronary artery disease (blocked heart arteries) has increased exponentially with increasing affluence of modern society. It has now become one of the leading causes of death in the developed world. Having no family history of heart disease or being able to perform vigorous exercise does not preclude one from having underlying coronary or structural heart disease.
Aims of the Screening Packages
The following healthy heart screening packages aim to help you detect risk factors for coronary artery disease and underlying heart disease in their earliest and most treatable stages. This will put you in a good position to begin changing your health in a positive way so as to prevent the development of coronary artery disease and its complications like heart attacks, heart failure, irregular heart rhythms and sudden cardiac death.
Types of Healthy Heart Screening Packages
There are 2 screening packages available. Discussion with the cardiologist will determine which package suits you best.

- Body Height
- Body Mass Index (BMI)
3. Detailed cardiac investigations
- 12-lead Electrocardiogram (ECG)
- Exercise Stress ECG (Treadmill)
- Trans-Thoracic Echocardiogram – Optional (additional $300)
4. Cardiac risk factor profiling investigations
- Kidney function test (Creatinine)
- Liver function test (ALT, AST and GGT)
- Fasting Blood Glucose
- Fasting Lipid Profile
- Total Cholesterol level
- HDL Cholesterol level

5. Post-screening Clinical Evaluation
- Clinical consultation with Cardiologist
- Thorough review of all tests done
- Cardiac risk stratification for coronary artery disease
This package includes:
- Identification of cardiovascular risk factors (hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes mellitus, renal impairment, obesity) that can lead to coronary artery disease and stroke.
- An Electrocardiogram (ECG) to evaluate for irregularities of heart rhythm and abnormalities that can predispose to sudden cardiac death.
- An Exercise stress ECG (Treadmill) to evaluate for any underlying significant blockages of the arteries of your heart and any abnormal heart rhythm or blood pressure changes during exercise.
- An Echocardiogram to evaluate the structure and function of the muscles and valves of the heart.
- A Carotid (Neck) Ultrasound to evaluate for any significant blockages in the blood vessels that supply your brain that can lead to stroke.
